“Luxury is achieved when a space seems flawless, when you strike a balance between all elements”
Theatricality understated, the details in this space made it an aesthetically appealing home and that’s exactly what we aim to deliver at The Space Tales.
Located in the West end of Delhi, this 3,131sq.ft. area was to be revamped from scratch excluding the interiors. Thus, the journey of this unfurnished space began. To our benefit the house was a beautiful tri-side open property.
Conceptualised on a colonial look and feel, the house was to be redone cosmetically and formed some civil changes based on the client’s vision for a bare shell. This brief was to exclude interior decor or any furniture and essentially focus on the design to make the 4 bedrooms and living room areas seem rather spacious.
Circling back to the basic difference between design and decor - “Interior design is the art and science creating functional spaces whereas decorating is the furnishing or adorning of a space with decorative elements to achieve a certain aesthetic.”
The Space Tales then, manoeuvred this space with design expertise. We strategize the flooring and the ceiling of the house. Sprinkling some old-school charm, with chequered marble floor in the foyer passage of the house, giving it a more Calabasas grandeur. A Moroccan style POP ceiling complimented with hanging crystal/ glass lights.
Focusing on the bedrooms, the master was a play of a corrugated POP ceiling. Since furniture was out of the equation, the wardrobe was given an Ikat print fabric that sandwiched beautifully between two glasses. For the other bedrooms, the aim was to enhance natural light by installing spacious windows and adding glass doors to bring out that oomph factor.
